Testimonials
Stories and Beneficial Experiences
Sathiya, a mother of three from a small village, discovered a lump in her breast in 2023 but delayed seeking treatment out of fear and silence. As the cancer worsened, she endured severe pain until admitted to government hospitals. The Soul Palliative Care team stepped in with compassion, providing medical care, emotional support, food supplies, and financial assistance. With pain relief and constant care, Sathiya found comfort and dignity in her final months surrounded by family. Though treatment failed, she passed away peacefully, expressing gratitude for the care she received. Her story highlights the importance of early detection, openness, and compassionate healthcare.
Chitra, a quadriplegic patient, faced immense physical and emotional challenges after being diagnosed with a cervical spine injury. Unprepared for such a life-altering condition, she and her family struggled to cope. With the support of Gokul, a Soul volunteer, Soul Palliative Care reached out and provided not only medical assistance but also vital emotional and mental support. Regular physiotherapy sessions by Dr. Raveen Thangavel helped Chitra progress from being bedridden to sitting with support. Soul also provided a Mechanical Transfer Wheelchair, easing daily life for her family. Chitra expresses deep gratitude, calling Soul a true blessing that restored hope, dignity, and improved her quality of life.
Manikandan, a 12-year-old boy battling cancer, faced his illness with a gentle smile despite immense pain. During regular visits, he shared memories of playing on the beach, worries about treatment costs, and concern for his younger brother. When asked about his wishes, he asked first for a chocolate, then softly wished to see the ocean once more. Though promised a visit, fate intervened, and he passed away before it could happen. The unfulfilled wish brought deep sorrow, but Manikandan’s courage, warmth, and innocence left a lasting impression. His story reminds us of the power of compassion, presence, and cherishing every moment with those who suffer.
Nirosha, a 24-year-old woman, has lived with seizure disorder and mental health challenges since birth, requiring constant care and support. Her condition worsens during the rainy season, bringing sleepless nights, anxiety, and frequent seizures. As her mother grows older, fear and helplessness about Nirosha’s future increased. In November 2024, Soul Palliative Care entered their lives, offering consistent support through essential food kits, diapers, and clothing. Beyond material help, Soul treated Nirosha with dignity and her mother with compassion and respect. Their presence brought comfort, hope, and reassurance during difficult times. For this family, Soul Palliative Care became a guiding light, helping them feel supported, valued, and no longer alone.
Mathiazhagan, a 30-year-old resident of Kamaraj Nagar, Perungalathur, has been living with quadriplegia for the past three years after a severe illness left him bedridden. Completely dependent on others for daily needs, he faces both physical pain and emotional loneliness. Unable to work or earn, he relies on continuous palliative care for essentials such as food kits, hygiene supplies, diapers, and medical kits to live with dignity. In this difficult journey, Soul Palliative Care has been a lifeline, offering consistent physical support and emotional strength. Their compassion, along with donor support, has helped Mathiazhagan endure each day with hope, dignity, and the reassurance that he is not alone.
